Privacy Policy

Effective September 2, 2026

This policy explains what Tidee collects, why, and what you can do about it. We wrote it to be read, not skimmed. If anything is unclear, email privacy@tidee.ai.

Who we are

Tidee is operated by Tidee AI, LLC, a South Carolina limited liability company doing business as Tidee Solutions. Our address is 215 East Bay St, Ste 201k #2098, Charleston, SC 29401. In this policy, "Tidee," "we," and "us" mean Tidee AI, LLC.

What this policy covers

This policy applies to tidee.ai, the Tidee application and its modules (starting with PaidUp), the emails we send, and our consulting work. We currently serve businesses in the United States only.

There are two kinds of information in a Tidee: information about you and your business, and information about the people your business bills. This policy covers both. The section called "Your customers' information" explains the second kind.

Information you give us

Waitlist and contact forms. When you join the waitlist we collect your email address. When you ask about consulting we collect your name, email address, and whatever you tell us about your business. If you try to sign in with an email address that does not have an account yet, we add that address to the waitlist so we can tell you when it is your turn.

Your account. We sign you in with a link emailed to you, so we hold your email address. During setup we ask for your business name, the name of the person running it, a phone number, and your time zone.

Your settings. The tone you choose, the templates you approve, how far PaidUp may escalate, and which invoices or customers to leave alone.

Invoices you enter by hand. Invoice number, amount, due date, payment link, and the name and email address of the customer it belongs to.

Conversations with us. Emails, calls, and notes from consulting engagements.

Information from services you connect

You choose whether to connect any of these. You can disconnect them at any time from your settings or from the other service's own permissions page.

QuickBooks Online. With your permission we read your open invoices, their amounts and due dates, the payment links attached to them, and the names and email addresses of the customers they are billed to. We use this to know what is outstanding and who to follow up with. We do not change your books.

Gmail. With your permission PaidUp can send follow-ups from your own email address, so they land in your Sent folder and replies come to you. We request permission to send email and to see the address of the account you connected. We do not request permission to read your inbox, and we never see your other mail. See "Google user data" below.

Square. If you connect Square, we read your catalog, inventory, orders, and payment records so a Tidee can show you what is moving. We do not take payments or move money.

Tokens that let us reach these services are encrypted before they are stored. We never see or store your passwords for them.

Information collected automatically

Product analytics. We use PostHog to understand how tidee.ai and the app are used: pages viewed, buttons clicked, forms submitted, and the browser and device you use. PostHog derives an approximate location from your IP address. We configured PostHog to run without cookies or local storage, so there is nothing to consent to and nothing that follows you across sites. We do not record sessions or replay what you typed. Once you sign up, we tie usage to your account so we can see where people get stuck.

Email opens. Emails we send through SendGrid include a small image that tells us when a message was opened. We use this to know whether a reminder was seen. We do not track which links you click.

Server logs. Like every web service, our hosting provider keeps logs of requests, including IP addresses, for security and debugging. They are retained for a short period.

Billing

Subscriptions are billed by Stripe. You enter your card details on a page Stripe hosts, and Stripe sends us only a customer reference, your plan, and whether payment succeeded. We never see or store your card number.

Your customers' information

PaidUp exists to follow up with the people your business bills. To do that, we hold information about them on your behalf: their name, email address, the invoices they owe, and the full text of every message PaidUp sends them, including when it was delivered, opened, bounced, or answered.

You are responsible for that information. You decide who gets contacted, what the messages say, and when PaidUp is allowed to send them. We act on your instructions and use this information only to run PaidUp for you. We do not contact your customers for our own purposes, and we do not add them to any list of ours.

If a customer replies to a reminder, the reply goes to you, not to us.

If you received an email from a Tidee customer. The business that sent it is our customer and controls your information. To stop receiving messages, reply to the sender or use the opt-out in the message. If you believe a Tidee customer is misusing our system, email privacy@tidee.ai and we will look into it.

Shared suppression list. If an address bounces permanently or reports a message as spam, we stop sending to it. Spam complaints are honored across every business using PaidUp, because they affect the reputation of the shared sending domain. This is the one place where a record from one customer's account affects another's.

How we use information

We use the information above to run the service you signed up for, to send the messages you asked PaidUp to send, to bill you, to answer you, to keep the service secure, to understand how it is used so we can improve it, and to meet our legal obligations.

We do not sell personal information. We do not share it with anyone for cross-context behavioral advertising. We do not use it to build profiles for anyone but ourselves.

AI

PaidUp uses AI models to write follow-ups in the tone you chose and to pick a sensible moment to send them. To do that, the model sees the invoice details and the message history it is writing about. We use commercial AI providers under terms that do not allow them to train on your data. We do not train models on your data either. You approve the templates before anything goes out, and in approval mode you approve each message.

Google user data

Tidee's use of information received from Google APIs follows the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.

In plain terms: we use the Gmail permission only to send the reminders you asked PaidUp to send and to show you that they were sent. We do not read your email. We do not use Google user data for advertising. We do not sell it. Humans at Tidee do not read it except with your permission, for security, to comply with law, or in aggregate form that cannot identify you. We do not transfer it to anyone except as needed to provide the feature you enabled, for security, or as required by law.

You can revoke Tidee's access at any time at https://myaccount.google.com/permissions.

Who we share information with

We share information only with the companies that help us run Tidee, under contracts that limit what they can do with it.

We will also share information if the law requires it, to protect Tidee or our customers from harm, or as part of a sale or merger of the company. If that last one happens, this policy still applies until you are told otherwise.

Cookies

The marketing site sets no cookies. The app sets the cookies needed to keep you signed in and to protect the connection flow when you link another service. Those are strictly necessary and are not used for tracking. We do not use advertising cookies and we do not allow third parties to place cookies on our pages.

Email from us

We send emails you would expect: sign-in links, confirmations, billing notices, and messages about your account and the reminders PaidUp is handling. If we ever send marketing email, it will include an unsubscribe link. Service emails about your account continue as long as you have an account, because you need them to use the service.

How long we keep information

We keep your account and the data in it while you have an account. When you close your account, or ask us to, we delete your account data and your customers' data within 30 days, except where we need to keep something for billing records, to resolve a dispute, or because the law requires it. Backups roll off on their own schedule after that.

Waitlist and contact form entries are kept until you ask us to remove them or we no longer need them. Analytics are kept in aggregate.

Security

Connections to Tidee use TLS. Tokens for connected services are encrypted at rest with keys held separately from the database. Access to production data is limited to the people who need it to run the service. No system is perfectly secure, and we will tell you promptly if we learn of a breach that affects you.

Your choices

You can update your business details in settings. You can disconnect QuickBooks, Gmail, or Square at any time. You can pause PaidUp for one customer or for everything.

You can ask us to show you the personal information we hold about you, correct it, or delete it. You can also ask us to export your data. Email privacy@tidee.ai from the address on your account and we will respond within 30 days. We will not treat you differently for asking.

California residents have these rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act. We do not sell or share personal information as those terms are defined there, so there is nothing to opt out of. You may designate someone to make a request on your behalf; we will ask for proof that you authorized them.

Children

Tidee is for businesses and is not directed at anyone under 18. We do not knowingly collect information from children. If you believe a child has given us information, email privacy@tidee.ai and we will delete it.

Where your data lives

Tidee operates in the United States, and our providers store data there. We do not currently accept customers outside the United States.

Changes to this policy

When we change this policy we will update the date at the top. If a change materially affects how we handle your information, we will email account holders before it takes effect.
